DxO ViewPoint 3 leverages DxO’s advanced image science to automatically correct skewed perspectives and horizons with a single click, making the process quick and easy. If you shoot anything in low light conditions then the Elite version's noise reduction is very well worth it.PARIS-November 16, 2016-DxO, a world leader in digital imaging technologies, announces a major update to DxO ViewPoint, its simple but powerful software that automatically corrects problems inherent in photographs taken with wide-angle lenses. When shooting interior shots with a ultra wide angle you can't always get both the horizontals and verticals right and this combination makes it easy and quick to correct both. The combination of PhotoLab and ViewPoint will give you the best results. So it seems that I could just get PhotoLab and be happy as long as it is able to correct the fisheye distortion as it seems to have done. Some additional tweaking of the photo would also be nice and it seems that PhotoLab does that. I'm sorry for being so dense about this, but DxO seems to have made this into a very complicated mess with 3 products and different versions.Īll I want to do is to remove the fisheye distortion for interior shots taken with my 10.5mm lens. Most of the time its automatic correction is good but it also gives you a lot of manual corrections that are easy to apply. ViewPoint adds Perspective Correction which is used to correct camera tilt (horizontal and vertical) and volume distortions caused by the tilt corrections. The quick corrections are done via the DxO camera/lens correction modules that are downloaded as it hits each combination. When I imported a fisheye photo into PhotoLab, it literally instantly corrected the fisheye and gave me a preview. The Elite version adds Prime Noise Reduction which while quite slow does a very good job. To further complicate my decision, I just discovered that there is the Standard and Elite editions.
